About The Event
On Friday 28th June at 7.00pm, the Palace Grounds come alive with the joyful music of a Ceilidh (pronounced kaylee); a form of social folk dancing, similar to a barn dance, where the caller guides you through the moves for each dance.
JigFoot will play traditional dance tunes with energy, inventiveness and, above all, swing.
This is music that defies you to stay still!
With caller Tom Gregory guiding dancers through, absolute beginners and regular ceilidh-goers welcome!
We are also delighted to welcome the renowned Portsmouth Shantymen to entertain us all with songs of the sea during the interval.
We very much hope you can join us on Friday 28th June 2024. Gates open at 6:30pm for the ceilidh to start at 7.00pm in the beautiful setting of Bishop's Waltham Palace.
